Dr. Rodrigo Roca completed a surgical residency at Oklahoma State University before moving back to his hometown in Los Angeles. His additional surgical experience includes a surgical internship in Austin, TX and a rotating internship at Tufts University in North Grafton, MA. Dr. Roca became board certified in surgery for small animals in 2024.
Dr. Roca has broad experience in soft tissue, surgical oncology, surgical neurology, and orthopedic cases. He has a keen interest in fracture management, degenerative joint disease, and joint replacement. Dr. Roca contributed his research towards extracapsular and biomechanical altering procedures for cruciate disease in canines. Other topics have included novel methods for fracture fixation in raptors, differences in outcomes for positioning of perineal urethrostomy procedures, and addressing the impact of telemedicine between clients and veterinarians.
Currently, he focuses his surgical practice on minimally invasive techniques for orthopedic and soft tissue cases. He works closely with our specialists to provide the best care for your beloved pets.
