Dr. Rachel Herwick, grew up in the Southeast. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Professional Biology from the University of North Alabama. Dr. Herwick obtained her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine. After graduation, she completed a one-year rotating internship in medicine and surgery at BluePearl Veterinary Partners in Louisville, KY. She then went on to complete a surgical internship at BluePearl Pet Hospital in Nashville, TN. After finishing her advanced training, Dr. Herwick practiced emergency medicine in South Florida and recently relocated to Los Angeles. Her professional interests include emergency surgery, critical care, teaching/training, and working with various veterinary non-profit organizations. 
 
In her free time, Dr. Herwick enjoys traveling, competing in equestrian endurance events, hiking, camping, running, and yoga. She also enjoys spending quality time with her horse, Samir, and dog Calliope.
