Sergio Melgar

RVT
Technician Manager

Sergio was raised in Orange County and started working in the veterinary field right out of high school. Sergio attended Mount San Jacinto College, in Walnut, CA for his degree in Veterinary Technology and obtained my RVT license in February 2005. Sergio spent time in a variety of different veterinary hospitals, but the most recent ten of those years has been working in Radiation Oncology and Medical oncology with back up support in emergency medicine. Sergio served his country and is a United States Navy veteran (July 2005- July 2009). During that time, Sergio was fortunate to travel to Japan, The Philippines, and Australia. Sergio is an accomplished lecturer in the field of Veterinary Medical and Radiation Oncology and, in 2016, won the 2016 NAVTA Case Report presentations for his lecture on “Radiation Therapy as an Adjunct treatment for Canine Lymphoma.” Sergio also has several RACE approved CE talks including “Getting to Know Your Cancer Patient,” and “Palliative Care for our Cancer Patient from Clinic to Home Care.” When Sergio is not working, he enjoys spending time with his son, and his 15-year old cocker Spaniel mix, Prince, while going camping, hiking, and playing at the beach.
